Lezione 21
(2008)
A devoted admirer of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony travels to Vienna to investigate a provocative claim made by his beloved professor: that the symphony, widely regarded as a masterpiece, is in fact the worst piece of music ever written. Through a series of theatrical flashbacks, the story reconstructs a fabled gathering in which a group of scholars and musicians debated and condemned the work. The film blends lecture, fable, and drama to explore the nature of artistic judgement and the dangers of reverence.
