A documentary examining the disturbing case of Dee Dee Blanchard, a mother who fabricated serious illnesses for her daughter Gypsy Rose, subjecting her to unnecessary medical procedures in what doctors later identified as Munchausen syndrome by proxy. The film explores how years of abuse and control ultimately led Gypsy, with the help of her online boyfriend, to arrange her mother's murder.
