Don Gnocchi - L'angelo dei bimbi

A Italian television film dramatising the life of Carlo Gnocchi, a Catholic priest who dedicated himself to caring for war orphans and disabled children in post-Second World War Italy. After witnessing the suffering of soldiers and their families on the Eastern Front, Gnocchi returns home and founds a network of rehabilitation centres to support young victims of conflict and disease. His tireless efforts on behalf of vulnerable children become the defining mission of his life, culminating in a final act of generosity that leads to his beatification by the Catholic Church.
