There have been several productions titled *The Hard Way*, so without a director or year it is difficult to identify a specific one with confidence. The most well-known is the 1991 Hollywood action comedy in which a pampered film star tags along with a no-nonsense New York detective in order to research a role, much to the detective's intense frustration. Their uneasy partnership is tested further when they find themselves pursuing a dangerous and erratic killer through the city.
