A young woman's accidental drowning sets off a chain of tragic consequences when a coast guard soldier becomes obsessed with her memory, driving him into conflict with her boyfriend and ultimately unravelling the lives of everyone around them. The film explores themes of desire, guilt, and violence against a backdrop of a remote Korean coastal outpost, where military duty and personal obsession collide with devastating results.
