A young water spirit named Žába falls in love with a human prince, prompting her to seek the help of a witch who transforms her into a mortal woman capable of speech. Unable to declare her love whilst in human form, she loses both her voice and her chance at happiness as tragic consequences unfold for all involved. The story draws on the classic Czech fairy tale, exploring themes of sacrifice, longing, and the painful gulf between two worlds.
