A young couple's erotic escapades are cut short when the woman is found murdered in a Venetian canal, and her husband becomes the prime suspect. A detective investigates the case whilst flashbacks reveal the couple's increasingly dangerous sexual obsessions. The inquiry uncovers a web of depravity that points toward a killer lurking within the victim's circle of acquaintances.
