A New York detective tries to balance the demands of a chaotic personal life, including two unruly young sons and a difficult estranged husband who also happens to be her police captain, whilst solving complex murder cases. Despite her dishevelled domestic circumstances, she proves herself a remarkably astute investigator whose unconventional methods consistently catch criminals off guard.
