Perfect Sense
Directed by David Mackenzie (2011)
A chef working in Glasgow begins a romance with an epidemiologist living nearby, even as a mysterious pandemic sweeps the world, causing people to lose their senses one by one. Each wave of the illness is preceded by an overwhelming surge of emotion — grief, then rage, then euphoria — before stripping away another faculty, first smell, then taste, then hearing. As civilisation slowly unravels, the two lovers cling to their relationship and to whatever sensory experiences remain to them.
