The Other Side of Hope

A Syrian man survives a perilous journey to Finland and applies for asylum, only to have his claim rejected, forcing him to live underground in Helsinki. Meanwhile, a middle-aged travelling salesman abruptly abandons his wife and poker winnings to purchase a struggling restaurant. The two men's paths cross when the restaurateur discovers the Syrian hiding in his yard and, rather than turning him away, offers him work and shelter, and the small ragtag crew of restaurant staff rally around their unexpected new colleague.
