The Good Traitor

Danish ambassador Henrik Kauffmann defies his Nazi-occupied homeland by refusing to hand over Greenland to Germany during the Second World War, instead acting independently to align Denmark with the Allied powers. Working from Washington, he signs agreements with the United States that his own government in Copenhagen, under German control, condemns as treasonous. The film traces both his political defiance and the personal strain it places on his marriage and sense of national identity.
