A Polish ornithologist working in Rwanda escapes the 1994 genocide with the help of a Tutsi woman whose family is massacred in the violence. Years later, back in Poland, the two women struggle to rebuild their lives whilst haunted by trauma, grief, and the weight of survival — their relationship strained and transformed by what they witnessed and lost.
