Lawman Luke Hobbs and rogue operative Deckard Shaw are forced into an uneasy partnership when a cybernetically enhanced anarchist named Brixton threatens to release a deadly virus that could wipe out much of humanity. The two men must put aside their fierce mutual animosity to retrieve the virus, drawing Shaw's estranged sister Hattie into the mission after she injects herself with the pathogen to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. The trail leads them to Samoa, where Hobbs reunites with his extended family to mount a final stand against Brixton and the shadowy organisation backing him.
