Berberian Sound Studio
Directed by Peter Strickland (2012)
A meek British sound engineer travels to Italy to work on what he believes will be a nature documentary, only to discover he has been hired to create the audio effects for a disturbing giallo horror film. As he immerses himself in the gruesome and unsettling work, the boundary between his professional task and his own psychological state begins to dissolve. The film becomes an increasingly surreal exploration of how exposure to darkness can unravel a person's grip on reality.
