An 83-year-old man living in an Amsterdam care home begins keeping a secret diary in which he records his candid, often sardonic observations about the indignities of old age and the peculiarities of his fellow residents. Determined to inject some meaning and mischief into his remaining years, he joins forces with a small group of like-minded elderly companions to form a club dedicated to pursuing pleasure and adventure. As the group embarks on outings and escapades, Hendrik also finds himself developing unexpected romantic feelings.
