A young jazz musician in 1930s Amsterdam becomes entangled with a notorious art forger who is perfecting his technique of passing off fake Vermeer paintings as genuine masterpieces. As the forger's scheme grows bolder and more lucrative, the two men forge an uneasy bond built on mutual need and shared secrets. The story follows their escalating deception as it draws the attention of powerful and dangerous collectors, ultimately putting both men at grave risk.
