Crimewatch
(2003)
A British true-crime television programme in which presenters reconstruct recent unsolved crimes, including murders, rapes and armed robberies, appealing directly to the public for information that might help police identify suspects. Members of the audience are encouraged to telephone the programme with any relevant tips, and officers from the investigating forces are on hand to take calls live on air. Updates on cases featured in earlier editions are also regularly included, demonstrating where public responses have led to arrests or convictions.
