The girl from Oslo

Directed by Ofir Lobel (2024)

A Norwegian woman is taken hostage in the Sinai Desert along with other tourists, forcing her Israeli father and Palestinian former lover to set aside their differences and work together to secure her release. The negotiations expose deep personal and political tensions between the two men as they navigate back-channel diplomacy to save her life. The series uses the hostage crisis as a lens through which to explore the fraught relationships between Israelis, Palestinians, and the wider Arab world.
