A biographical drama charting the life of Ignatius of Loyola, the sixteenth-century Spanish nobleman who, after suffering a serious injury in battle, underwent a profound spiritual transformation. Abandoning his former ambitions, he devoted himself to a life of faith and eventually founded the Society of Jesus, better known as the Jesuits. The film follows his long journey from soldier to mystic to religious leader, depicting the struggles and sacrifices that shaped one of Catholicism's most influential figures.
