A Dutch dramatisation exploring the moral dilemmas faced by the Jewish Council established by the Nazi occupiers in Amsterdam during the Second World War. The series examines how Jewish leaders were forced into an impossible position, compelled to administer orders that affected the fate of their own community whilst attempting to protect as many people as possible. It raises difficult questions about collaboration, survival and the nature of impossible choices under brutal occupation.
