A large, fractious Italian family gathers on an island to celebrate an elderly couple's anniversary, but when bad weather strands them together, long-suppressed tensions, secrets, and resentments begin to surface among the relatives. The enforced confinement forces each family member to confront uncomfortable truths about their relationships and the carefully maintained fiction that everything at home is fine.
