A former private detective with a gambling debt travels to his home town of Galveston, Texas, after being hired to locate a missing woman. The investigation draws him into a web of dark secrets centred on a local psychiatric institution and the powerful family that runs it. As he digs deeper, buried connections to his own past begin to surface, complicating both the case and his loyalties.
