Shttl
Directed by Ady Walter (2021)
A young Jewish man returns to his rural Eastern European village on the eve of the Second World War, finding his community still deeply rooted in traditional life and unaware of the catastrophe approaching. His homecoming stirs up personal tensions and unresolved relationships within the close-knit shtetl. The film unfolds in a single continuous shot, lending an intimate and urgent quality to its portrayal of a world on the brink of destruction.
