A bumbling car designer travels across Europe to deliver an innovative camping vehicle to an Amsterdam motor show, encountering a series of mishaps and delays along the way. The film follows his quietly comic misadventures as he and his small entourage face breakdowns, border bureaucracy, and minor collisions. True to the director Jacques Tati's style, the humour arises from careful observation of modern life and the absurdity of humanity's relationship with the automobile.
