The Extraordinary Equiano

A documentary exploring the remarkable life of Olaudah Equiano, an enslaved African who gained his freedom and became a prominent voice in the eighteenth-century British abolitionist movement. The film traces his journey from capture in West Africa through his experiences of slavery across the Atlantic world, to his eventual emancipation and life in Britain. His autobiography, published in 1789, is examined as a landmark work that helped turn public opinion against the slave trade.
