Race

There have been several productions titled *Race*, so without a director or year it is difficult to pinpoint which one is meant. The most prominent is the 2016 biographical drama about Jesse Owens, the African-American athlete who competed at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

A young Jesse Owens arrives at Ohio State University with remarkable athletic talent, where coach Larry Snyder helps him refine his abilities despite the racial prejudices he faces both on and off the track. As his reputation grows, Owens must decide whether to boycott the Berlin Olympics in protest at Nazi Germany's racial ideology, or compete on the world stage and prove a point of his own. His performance in Berlin, where he wins four gold medals under Adolf Hitler's gaze, becomes a defining moment in both sporting and political history.

This is an independent production, one of the many real-world projects enCAST members bring their talent to. Note that enCAST was not involved in its casting unless otherwise stated; the actors listed below have added this credit to their own profile.
