A young woman in early twentieth-century Korea pursues her dream of becoming a celebrated performer in the traditional pansori and theatrical arts scene, facing considerable hardship and social barriers along the way. She trains under demanding masters and competes with rival performers as she struggles to establish herself in a male-dominated entertainment world. The series follows her gradual rise through dedication and raw talent, whilst exploring the lives and relationships of the women around her who share the same precarious stage.
