Soeur Sourire

Directed by Stijn Coninx (2008)

A Belgian biographical television film following the life of Jeanine Deckers, a Dominican nun who achieved unexpected international fame in the early 1960s under the stage name Sœur Sourire with her cheerful song "Dominique." After leaving the convent, she struggles to reclaim her identity and finances, finding herself trapped in disputes with tax authorities and record companies. The film traces her turbulent journey from religious celebrity to personal tragedy, culminating in her death alongside her companion Annie Pécher.
