Otto Weidt

(2013)

A documentary portrait of Otto Weidt, a nearly blind Berlin brush manufacturer who sheltered and employed deaf and blind Jewish workers in his workshop during the Second World War, protecting many of them from Nazi persecution. The film examines his remarkable acts of resistance and humanitarianism in the face of the Holocaust, drawing on historical records and the story of the workshop that now serves as a memorial museum.
