Czarny Czwartek

Directed by A. Krauze

A dramatisation of the violent suppression of worker protests in communist Poland in December 1970, when government forces opened fire on striking shipyard workers in the coastal cities, killing dozens of people. The film centres on the human cost of the crackdown, following ordinary workers and their families as they experience the brutal events of that period. It serves as both a historical account and an emotional tribute to those who suffered under the authoritarian regime.
