Children of Sarajevo

A young Bosnian woman struggles to hold her family together in post-war Sarajevo, working a low-wage job whilst trying to keep her troubled younger brother out of danger and away from criminal influences. The film portrays the grinding poverty and psychological scars left on a generation who grew up during the siege, as the siblings navigate a city still haunted by its violent recent past. Their bond is tested as the brother's reckless behaviour pushes him towards a world from which rescue becomes increasingly difficult.
