Lines of Wellington
Directed by Valeria Sarmiento
A group of Portuguese and British soldiers, along with the civilians caught up in the conflict, experience the brutal realities of the Peninsular War as Wellington's forces prepare their defensive fortifications against Napoleon's army. The film weaves together multiple stories across different social classes and nationalities, exploring themes of sacrifice, survival, and the human cost of warfare. Rather than focusing on grand military strategy, it dwells on the personal and often tragic fates of ordinary people swept up in the campaign.
