A British colonial officer recruits a cunning opportunist to infiltrate and dismantle a band of rebels fighting against East India Company rule in nineteenth-century India. The recruit, however, finds his loyalties shifting as he grows closer to the freedom fighters and their cause. The film blends swashbuckling action sequences with themes of patriotism and betrayal.
