A reality television series in which members of the public auditioned for the chance to win a role in the long-running British soap opera Emmerdale. Hopefuls were put through a series of acting challenges and eliminations, with judges assessing their suitability for life on a major soap set. The winners were ultimately written into the show as new characters.
