The German
(2008)
A man with a troubled past becomes obsessed with adopting the lifestyle and identity of a German, meticulously studying the language, culture, and customs to the point where his fixation begins to consume and alienate him from those around him. As he retreats further into this self-constructed persona, the boundaries between performance and genuine identity begin to dissolve in unsettling ways.
