A devout Catholic woman is shattered when her teenage son is killed in a road accident, and her grief tips into obsession as she becomes convinced he has been resurrected. Interpreting his reappearance as a divine miracle, she begins to treat him as a messianic figure, drawing others into her delusion and subjecting him to the trappings of religious veneration. The film blends dark comedy with unsettling drama as the boy struggles against his mother's increasingly fanatical beliefs.
