A young woman living in 1920s France disguises herself as a man in order to pursue greater freedom and opportunity in a society that restricts women's ambitions. Moving through the jazz-age underworld of Paris, she becomes entangled in a criminal investigation whilst navigating questions of identity, desire, and independence.
