A wealthy American teenager is kidnapped in Italy, and his billionaire grandfather refuses to pay the ransom, sparking a bitter family conflict. The ordeal grows increasingly desperate as the boy suffers horrifying treatment at the hands of his captors, whilst his mother fights to secure his release against the old man's calculated indifference. The story explores how extreme wealth can distort human relationships and moral priorities.
