Sin

A fictionalised portrait of Michelangelo during the years he spent competing for prestigious papal commissions in early sixteenth-century Italy. The film follows the ageing sculptor as he battles rival artists, demanding patrons from the Medici and Della Rovere families, and his own tormented creative conscience. Struggling with the weight of genius and the corrupting influence of wealth and power, he searches for the perfect block of marble from which to carve his next masterpiece.
