Strange Angel

A young man in 1940s California pursues twin obsessions — cutting-edge rocketry and occult mysticism — as he becomes entangled with a group of followers devoted to the rituals of Aleister Crowley's Thelema movement. Based loosely on the real life of Jack Parsons, a pioneering figure in American rocket science, the series explores how his unconventional beliefs both fuel and threaten his scientific ambitions. His relationships with colleagues, lovers, and fellow disciples grow increasingly complicated as he is drawn deeper into a world of ritual and transgression.
