A documentary examining the aftermath of the USS Indianapolis disaster of 1945, in which hundreds of American sailors were left stranded in shark-infested Pacific waters after their vessel was sunk by a Japanese submarine. The programme explores the terrifying days the survivors spent at sea, during which many were killed by shark attacks in what became one of the deadliest such incidents in recorded history. Expert testimony and survivor accounts are used to analyse both the human ordeal and the behaviour of the sharks involved.
