Casting "The Joke’s on You" a graduation short film.
"The Joke’s on You" is a dark comedy set in a comedy club, exploring the fine line between humour and humiliation.
Filming Dates: March 25th, 26th, and 27th
Filming Location: Edinburgh
Auditions: Mid-March 2025
Unpaid roles but travel expenses and food covered.
Roles
ALEX (LEAD ROLE)
Male, 20-30 years old
Personality: Reserved, introverted, but observant
Description: A struggling comedian who watches from the shadows, taking in the chaos around him. Requires subtle emotional acting.

CHAD (SUPPORTING ROLE – ANTAGONIST)
Male, 20-30 years old
Personality: Outgoing, overconfident, brash
Description: A cocky comedian with a strong stage presence but an unlikeable attitude. Needs an actor with great comedic timing and energy.

HOST (SUPPORTING ROLE)
Male, 30-50 years old
Personality: Charismatic, engaging, professional
Description: A seasoned host who has been in the business for years. Can effortlessly work a crowd. Experience in public speaking or stand-up.

EXTRAS / SUPPORTING ARTISTS:
DJ – Male, 25-40 years old. The DJ in charge of music at the comedy club.
Clowns – Any gender, any age. Must be comfortable in clown makeup and costumes. Basic physical comedy or stage movement .
Audience Members – Any gender, any age. No experience required, but must be comfortable reacting and laughing on camera.
