ROLE: SAL f, any ethnicity, any age, must speaks English clearly (all accents welcome). Director’s note on casting details:  This play, at its core, is an epic battle between two brothers — in our case, sisters.  They are each trying to sell a movie idea, and SAL KIMMER is the movie producer in the middle of the battle.  SAL can be any ethnicity, any age, and can have any accent, just as long as she speaks English clearly.  SAL is the character that releases the sibling tension.  It is the kind of role that Bette Midler, Whoopi Goldberg or Roisin Conaty could play beautifully — a light comedic touch, smart, eccentric, uniquely individual. Although the central story of “True West” is about the brothers (sisters), SAL KIMMER is the light-hearted glue that holds the entire play together.  In other words, this is a splendid role, and we are looking for the perfect female actor to bring SAL to life.
