Hi everyone,
I am Emma and I am currently about to start production on a short film set in WWII in the Pacific. It is an indie student film, something I have been developing for some time now.
What is is about?:
This project is a short film about the daily life and survival of a group of European women held prisoner by the Japanese, in a camp in the former Dutch East Indies.
It will be taking place across a few weekends in May and June (three weekends), in Amsterdam.
The film is indeed quite a harrowing subject, but one that details the survival of these women- so if you would like to help be a part of a film which shares their story, please do get in touch with me!
Roles
we require approximately 10-15 more female extras playing as the prisoners. These prisoners will be mostly in the background, simulating hard labour in the camp, bowing to the guards, etc- however, some extras will be "featured" extras, with more prominent screen time.
As the film is set in the later years of the war (1945), the women have been held for a few years and have been weathered by starvation, diseased, and slave labour- as such, we are looking for Caucasian European women, aged between 18 and 50, with a thin build.
