Casting Call for a Psychological Drama/Mystery Short Film.
For our upcoming short film, The Missing Part—a heartfelt and gripping story exploring friendship and mental health—we are seeking English-speaking actors and actresses based in the Netherlands to bring our characters to life.
Synopsis: Three friends—Tristan, Frank, and Barth—spend an unforgettable week at a hotel by the beach, sharing laughter, adventure, and the freedom of living in the moment. But their perfect getaway takes a strange turn when Tristan disappears without a trace. As Frank and Barth try to find him, they uncover an unsettling truth: there’s no record of Tristan anywhere, and it seems like he might never have existed. Struggling to make sense of this mystery, Frank begins to question his own memories and reality. With his world unraveling, Frank clings to Barth, his last connection to what feels real. Together, they search for answers while facing doubts about their past and their friendship.
Filming will take place in January and February 2025 near Amsterdam and/or Den Haag
Live auditions on November 28th (extension possible).
Each role is compensated, with full coverage of travel expenses and catering provided.
Roles
ROLES AVAILABLE:
Frank (M, Lead, 25-30):
Frank is the heart of his friend group—loyal, deeply connected, and always valuing the bonds he shares with others. Beneath his calm exterior, however, he wrestles with self-doubt and a quiet longing for recognition. When his world is turned upside down by an unexplainable mystery, Frank begins to lose his grip on reality, spiraling into a whirlwind of intense emotions. His journey is one of confusion, self-reflection, and the desperate search for the truth.
Barth (M, Supporting, 25-30):
Barth is the dependable and warm friend of the group, always ready to support those around him. He listens, offers practical solutions, and maintains balance when chaos arises. As the stabilizing force of the trio, Barth remains a pillar of strength for Frank, even as the situation becomes increasingly bewildering.
Sen (F, Supporting, 25-30):
Sen is a caring and emotionally steady woman who has a deep bond with Frank. Patient and attentive, she provides him with a listening ear and comforting presence, even as she struggles with the reality of his growing confusion. Her love for Frank is unwavering, but her concern deepens as he drifts further from the truth.
Tristan (M, Supporting, 25-30):
Tristan is the energetic and carefree spirit of the group, always ready to brighten the mood and inspire new adventures. With his spontaneous and light-hearted nature, he pushes the group toward exciting experiences. Living fully in the moment, Tristan embodies the freedom and fun that binds the friends together.
