Casting Overview

Actor wanted for main character in a short student film about grief and the unknown. The film is in English but our crew is Dutch.

Synopsis: James is forced to move back into his childhood home against his will. He is still grieving after the death of his mother and is not happy when all kinds of inexplicable things happen. Eventually he finds out that it is a spirit sent by his mother and does everything he can to become friends with it. An unexpected encounter leads to a special friendship.

Shooting in mid-December, most likely on December 19 and 20 in South Limburg.

Travel allowance is included, as well as catering. Accommodation, if required, can be arranged in consultation.

Languages: English

Main role: James m, 20-28, speaking English*, comfortable with dogs James is in his mid-twenties. He is a bit of an underdog and will never hurt a fly. He is hesitant yet curious. Since the death of his parents, he is struggling with being comfortable in his new environment and being alone. He is a big fan of animals, just like his parents. so when he sees one, he jumps at the chance to befriend it and have a friend by his side. NB: There will be a trained dog on set, which you will need to act with. There will be no other actors so be prepared to play on your own. *There isn't a lot of dialogues so you are welcome to apply even if your English isn't perfect.
