Casting Overview
Casting "Dilemma" a short crime film with a focus on strong visuals and a twist at the end. It includes a mix of a real-time interrogation and flashbacks of a robbery.
Premise: When a robbery ends in murder, Detective James Waller and his partner Nathan Banks must interrogate their suspect Roy Bishop to uncover the truth, resulting in an unlikely arrest.
Location: Amsterdam Noord
Period: February 5th and 6th
This is a low-budget student production. Roles are not paid. Necessary expenses will be covered by us. Opportunity to connect with other filmmakers in Amsterdam and footage for your personal portfolio. Snacks and coffee will be available.
Roles
Character Descriptions:
ROLE: Roy Bishop
m, 20-40, fluent in English, ideally based in AMS
Primary suspect and sole witness of the crime; with a criminal past. Straightforward and persistent on proving his innocence. Roy believes the situation is ridiculous and is tired of dealing with the legal system. He has a clear distaste for cops.
ROLE: Detective James Waller
m, 20-40, fluent in English, ideally based in AMS
An experienced detective within the police department. Detective Waller is thorough and sharp, and is determined to find the truth behind this case. His loyalty to the truth is stronger than his loyalty to his fellow officers.
ROLE: Detective Nathan Banks
m, 20-40, fluent in English, ideally based in AMS
Partner of Detective Waller and a new hire at the police department. Short-tempered, set on keeping the truth hidden. Relies on intimidating and overwhelming the suspect. Willing to do absolutely anything to hide his secret.
ROLE (non-speaking): Bail Bondsman
m, 20-40, fluent in English, ideally based in AMS
Worker in the Bail Bonds office. Attempts to defend himself but does not survive. No lines.
