For a short film titled, ’Souf’’ to be filmed on 15-23 August 2022. (5 days)

Synopsis: A family that was destroyed by an accident that happened in the past. Due to this accident the mother and father died. This forces the two brothers to grow up faster than they want to, and they have moved in with their Grandpa Abdel in Kanaleneiland. In the film we follow Souf, the younger of the two brothers. Kharim’s brother is hardly ever at home, So Souf often has to take care of their grandfather. But because Souf’s family has fallen apart so much, he seeks this love in other places. They have to make choices that not everyone of that age should already be making. A family that has already had to endure a lot, where the problems just keep piling up. A film where we struggle with themes such as loneliness, desire, love and deceit.
Souf tries to find light in a world full of darkness, does Souf manage to illuminate these dark moments or do these moments only get darker?

Casting will take place in early July in Kanaleneiland.

LIEKE: Mother of Saar (Souf's girlfriend) of Dutch origin. Lieke is a young hip mother who moved from Amsterdam to Culemborg. She is also a bit floaty, but above all she was raised very freely by her parents. She is divorced from her husband who still lives in Amsterdam. She now lives with Saar in the eco district in Culemborg in a greenhouse house, a completely glass greenhouse that surrounds your house, and the entire greenhouse is filled with plants. She herself is very busy with painting and sculpting and you can see that scattered throughout the house. She is very chaotic but a real artist When topics like “Can Souf stay asleep” are discussed, she is not the most difficult. She absolutely loves Souf and always likes it when he is there. She thinks it's such a shame that he leaves so early every time. actually she just misses a man in her life, but all dates with young singles via tinder have not yet paid off.
