Casting Overview

Casting Dutch and English-speaking actors for speaking and non-speaking roles in a short film produced by 3rd/4th-year students at Breda University of Applied Sciences.

Studio 27 is committed to being part of a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive industry. The producers encourage performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, ages, physicalities, nationalities, and abilities to submit.

Shooting between 11/11 and 30/11 November 2024 (exact dates TBA). We also plan to have a table read before the production days, date TBD.

We are working on a low-budget project, so we cannot pay the actors much. We can offer a high-quality film made by enthusiastic graduating students who want to show everything they have learnt during their studies. The film will be sent to various international film festivals.

ROLE: KENNY m, 18-30, any ethnicity, English or Dutch speaker. Let us know if you can rap/sing. Kenny (27) is a quirky, straightforward, perfectionist, although recovering drug-addicted rapper and entrepreneur. He is an ambivert, who is surrounded by the people he trusts most. He has a dry sense of humor and laughs at his own jokes. He is the type of person to eat leftover pizza in the morning but handles his business like a pro when the time comes.

ROLE: LEONARD m, 18-30, any ethnicity, English or Dutch speaker. Let us know if you can rap/sing. Leonard (28) is Kenny’straightforward, extrovert best friend, but also his co-writer, and drug dealer. Leo loves to joke around and always lives in the moment. However, when someone needs his support, he will be there for them no matter what, which makes him a friend you want to keep around.

ROLE: LULU f, 18-30, any ethnicity, English or Dutch speaker. Let us know if you can rap/sing. Lulu (24) is Kenny’s girlfriend and music producer. She’s a self-assured woman who is passionate and artistic. Lulu has a hard exterior, but once a bond of trust is created she opens up. Besides her tomboyish behavior and fashion sense, she is a very caring and empathetic woman.
