John finds himself at the finish line of years of hard work and dedication to academia with a great-paying engineer job, an equally successful wife, a secluded farmhouse, and projected ever-growing successes for the foreseeable future which brings with it an indefinite boredom that scares him. John’s life has been safely confined to his studies, and now that the result of his work has paid off he jealously yearns for the experiences that hindered his peer’s abilities to achieve as well as he did in university, the drugs, the parties, the sex. In a moment of weakness, John caved into the carnal temptation for a secret affair with an old classmate, Laura, thinking this could be the remedy to his terminally unfulfilling success. The pair swear never to speak of the affair again the morning after.
